Psychodynamic psychotherapy with over 20 years of experience supporting adults with emotional difficulties, relationships, anxiety, life transitions, identity and belonging.

Maria offers psychotherapy in English and Portuguese, in person in Limerick and online.

My purpose is to support people through attentive listening, helping them develop a deeper understanding of themselves and move toward a life that feels more authentic and aligned with their values and desires.

I am a Psychotherapist in Ireland and Clinical Psychologist trained in Brazil, with over 20 years of experience in clinical practice and mental health. My work is grounded in a psychodynamic approach, which values thoughtful listening, emotional understanding, and the exploration of unconscious patterns that may shape our thoughts, emotions, relationships, and life experiences.

Alongside my clinical practice, I spent ten years as a university lecturer and clinical placement supervisor in Brazil. These experiences further developed my ability to listen deeply, understand different perspectives, and communicate with clarity and sensitivity.

I aim to offer a safe, trusting and non-judgemental space where you can explore what may be difficult to understand or express, at your own pace, and begin to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships.

I work with adults and adolescents experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, relationship challenges, emotional distress, low self-esteem, life transitions, stress, identity concerns, and experiences related to immigration, adjustment and belonging.

I provide psychotherapy in both English and Portuguese, offering a confidential, reflective and supportive space where difficulties can be explored at your own pace and with care.
